Slane .................. 1-6

Having taken some time to exert their superiority over Slane, St Brigid's cut loose in the second half despite playing against a stiff wind.

Cormac Browne led the way in the scoring stakes for the Ballinacree-side while Fergal Ingram bagged a brace of second half goals that flatlined lingering Slane hopes of silverware.

Clad in their alternative strip of mainly black, St Brigid's defended tenaciously throughout and when the chance presented itself they doubled their tally in the final quarter.

St Brigid's moved 18 points clear three times in the final quarter. Most of Slane's scores came courtesy of Alan Harding with wing-back Eoin Feeley getting their final point.

In stoppage time, Harding created the opening for sub Kyle Tallon to fire to the net for the final score of the game

The heavy rain in the latter stages couldn't dampen St Brigid's spirits as they finished with 15 points to spare.

Backed by the blustery elements, St Brigid's were quick off the mark with Cormac Browne pointing twice (one free) within six minutes of the thrown in.

Alan Harding pulled on back for Slane. That was countered by Browne third point to make it 0-3 to 0-1 with 13 minutes on the clock.

When Harding landed a free for Slane their deficit was down to the minimum, 0-3 to 0-2, early in the final quarter. That was to be Slane's last score of the half.

In a low-scoring half, St Brigid's finished with a flourish. Cormac Browne's fourth point added to Joseph Blake's 25th minute goal boosted the Ballinacree side to a 1-5 to 0-2 interval advantage.

Alan Harding managed five of Slane's six pointswhile his assist for Tallon's goal merely softened the final scoreline.
