FL Div 3B: Kilbride in control from start to finish

June 22, 2022

Kilbride's Josh Harford

Moynalty 0-14 Kilbride 3-18

What is seldom is wonderful. For once, the Kilbride faithful could enjoy a match from start to finish without the usual roller coaster rides they have been subjected to this year. It was a game that the red and green controlled from start to finish and ran out easy winners by 13 points. The reward for the winners is a place in next weekend's final versus Moylough and promotion from Division 3B.

The game started slowly  with the scores at 2 apiece after 5 minutes. After 8 minutes, Kilbride led by 6 with a Joseph Donnelly goal starting the rout. Kilbride played a nice brand of football with the ball moving fast and in the correct direction which is always a help. The scores flowed, with another Donnelly goal putting serious daylight between the teams. They led by 11 at the break.

Whatever hopes Moynalty had of a comeback were delivered a knock out blow with a Harford goal at the start of the second half. Both teams traded points in the second half but the result was never in doubt from a long way out.

Kilbride emptied the bench with all of their 3 subs, including a keeper. Resources are thin on the ground but the group remained committed to the cause and hope to bring a League title back to the Club, the first in nearly 30 years.

Kilbride: Stephen Mc Mullen, Cian Harford, Karl Stapleton, Caolan Howard, Ronan O' Leary, Jack Donnelly, Mark Dempsey, Cathal Mc Keon, Timmy Farrell, Josh Harford, Fiachra Gorman, Ben Donnelly, Adam Malone, David O' Leary, Joseph Donnelly.

Subs used: Craig Manning, Anthony Barker, Finn Hughes
