October 11, 2021

Na Fianna's Jack McNally

Na Fianna 1-13 Wolfe Tones 3-10

Na Fianna disappointingly exited at the quarter final stage on Saturday in a lacklustre display in Trim.

Tones were good value for this win as they led from early in the first quarter to the end.

Na Fianna trailed by 1-02 to 0-5 after the first quarter with Shane Walsh, Daniel Queeney (0-2) and Jack McNally kicking good efforts from play.

Tones had a blistering start to the next quarter hitting three points in a row. Daniel  Queeney converted a free before Tones hit two more points for a commending 1-07 to 0-5 half time lead.

Jack McNally started the second half well for Na Fianna hitting two excellent points  while Shane Walsh (2) and Ethan Devine scored their only three other points this quarter.

Trailing 2-09 to 0-10 at the final water break, Na Fianna were rocked by an early Wolfe Tones goal which all but put them out of reach.

Na Fianna rallied well with Daniel & Jamie Queeney and Paul Kennedy all pointing. Jack McNally buried a goal in the closing stages to put three points between the sides but Wolfe Tones held on to progress.
