Three first-half goals boosted the men-in-black to a 10-point interval advantage, 3-6 to 0-5. With Boardsmill unable to breach a rock-solid Dunderry rearguard the outcome was never in doubt thereafter.

David Gilkeson's tally of 2-4 almost equalled Boardsmill's total. Full-forward Ciaran Brady's presence was rewarded with two first-half goals.

His sixth minute opener earned Killian Minogue's men a lead they took to the finish. Bob Doherty provided the assist.

The second goal arrivved in the 20th minute with Gilkeson sending Boardsmill 'keeper Vinny Guy the wrong way from a penalty at the town goal.

That score arrived just before the waterbreak when it was 4-8 to 0-8. Keith Hamilton was Boardsmill's top scorer on the night. His third and final point came just after water break ended.

Gilkeson completed Dunderry's tally with his side's fifth goal, in the 51st minute, with Dempsey again assisting. It left The the board reading 5-8 to 0-9.
