Meath SHC draw: Ratoath and Trim drawn into same group

June 20, 2021

Trim's James Toher with Conor McGill Ratoath

The 2021 Meath senior hurling championship draw has been made this afternoon at Pairc Tailteann.

Due to the impact of Covid-19, last year’s final between Ratoath and Trim has yet to be played, with a dedicated weekend in August understood to be set aside for the 2020 decider, and both have been paired together in Group A in this afternoon’s draw.

2019 winners Kildalkey are also in the same group, along with Longwood, Na Fianna and Kiltale.

Clann na nGael, Dunboyne, Kilyon, Kilmessan and Blackhall Gaels are in Group B, where they’ll be joined by either Boardsmill or Wolfetones.

The latter two are waiting to play last year’s intermediate hurling championship final to enter into the race for the Jubilee Cup which is set to start in September.

Plans are also in place to play last year's junior hurling championship final between Ratoath and Kilmessan and the Division 2 HC decider between Boardsmill and Dunderry before the 2021 championships get underway.

The draws for this year's senior, intermediate and junior football championships also took place today and can be read here.
