Meath made it to the last four of the Ladies National Football League Division 2 with a comprehensive win over Clare at Pairc Tailteann.

From the throw in the home side dominated and by the time the first water break arrived they were 0-9 to 0-1 in front with some fine scores from Emma Duggan, Niamh O’Sullivan, Orlagh Lally and Aoibheann Leahy.

Aoibheann Cleary, Stacey Grimes (2) and Duggan added to that tally and Meath went in at the break 0-13 to 0-2 in front.

Another scoring spree before the second water break put the result beyond doubt. A brace of goals from Grimes and one from substitute Emma White increased Meath’s tally to 3-18 while a very well organised defence held Clare scoreless.

The visitors added three points to their tally in the last quarter as Meath emptied the bench. Bridgetta Lynch wrapped up a fine team performance with a goal with five minutes remaining.

Meath take on Cavan in the semi final with the winners playing Kerry or Monaghan in the final.
