Meath's Aoife Minogue loses her hurl but retains possession during the opening round of the National Camogie League Div 2 at Dunganny

Meath opened their National Camogie League Division 2 Group 4  with a convincing win over Kildare at the Meath GAA Centre of Excellence in Dunganny.

Meath 1-19 Kildare 3-7

The home side were rocked in the opening three minutes when Kildare hit 1-1 without reply. Leah Sutton found the Meath net from the penalty spot for the first score of the game.

Meath settled and despite conceding another goal went in at the break 0-11 to 2-2 in front.

The visitors hit for another goal in the opening minute of the second half but Meath didn’t panic and kept taking their points.

By the second water break they were 0-17 to 3-4 in front.

Aoife Minogue got the winners only goal with five minutes remaining to round off an impressive display for Brendan Skehan’s charges.
