Michael Fennelly's men managed 1-11 after the first water break while all Meath could muster was a Padraic O'Hanrahan free in stoppage time.
Eoghan Carroll top scored with 0-12 for Offally including two pointed sides into the old swimming pool end in the second-half.

Goals from Oisin Kelly and Adrian Hynes were central to Offaly's 2-13 to 0-7 interval advantage.
Despite the imposition of the elements Offaly outscored Meath 1-12 to 3-2 in the second-half.

The water break was reached with leading by 0-6 to 1-2. By the 25th minute Offaly were 2-6 0-6 clear and over the remainder of the half maintained momentum to secure an emphatic victory.
