JFC semi final: Ballivor advance with ease

Ballivor took on St Ultans in perfect conditions at Pairc Tailteann looking to advance to the Meath Junior Football Championship final.

Ballivor 4-17 St Ultans 0-10

Ballivor were first on the score board with a Brendan McKeon point which was quickly cancelled out by Ultans a minute later. But after this score Ballivor took control. McKeon restored Ballivors lead in the 4th minute with a free. Adam Gannon then added two points for Ballivor men. Then Ballivor hit the net for the first time. Ballivor won a side line deep in the Ultans half which was quickly taken. The ball ended up with Kevin McKeon who finished to the net the leave the score 1-4 to 0-1 to the Ballivor men.a Chris Dunne point followed by a Kevin McKeon point extended Ballivors lead before Ultans got there second point for a free in the 16th minute. But again Ballivor responded with a Brendan McKeon free followed by the same players scoring a lovely left foot effort. Ballivors work rate and willingness to fight for every ball ment that Ultans players were always under pressure on the Ball. A long range Joe McLaughlin point rounded off Ballivors scoring for the first half which saw Ultans score the last two points to leave it at halftime time 1-9 to 0-4 to Ballivor.

As in the first half Ballivor were first on the score board through Adam Gannon. To which Ultans quickly responded with a point of their own. A Kevin McKeon point extended Ballivors lead before they were awarded a penalty. Following a quick counter attack with David Conneely about to pull the trigger he was fouled. Brendan McKeon places the ball on the spot and cooly sent the keeper the wrong way to leave it 2-11 to 0-5. Brendan McKeon followed the goal with a pointed free before Ultans raised the white flag in the 37th minute. Ballivor added two further points through Adam Gannon and David Conneely before they hit the net for the third time. Once again a swift Ballivor attack and quick passing got the ball to Nicky Potterton who round his man and headed for the goals and cooly slotted by the oncoming keeper to leave it 3-14 to 0-7. Ultans added two further points before Brendan McKeon, Padraig Geoghegan and Kevin McKeon added points for Ballivor. The scoring was finished through a left footed Killian Canavan goal to leave the final score Ballivor 4-17 St Ultans 0-10.

It was a massive team performance from every man with huge work rate and willingness to never give up.
