IFC semi final: Bitter disappointment for Kilmainham

September 21, 2020

Richie Brady celebrates after scoring a goal for Kilmainham during the IFC semi final against Trim at Pairc Tailteann

Kilmainham 1-09 Trim 4-18

A 100 supporters travelled from the mile and half stretch of the Kells Navan road known as Kilmainham with optimism and belief that their team could get to the promised land of a County Final. Unfortunately today was just not our day and bitter disappointment will be the feeling felt by all in attendance.

Trim showed their experience from being beaten in last years final and used it very much to their advantage. I could sit here and write a list of things that didn’t go our way but what would that achieve? The scoreline is the scoreline and no amount of me moaning about this, that or the other is going to change it. What I will say is that todays match is no way a reflection on this team and what they can do, which they proved in the group stages. This group of lads have put everything into football over the last few months and reaped the reward by getting to our first Intermediate Semi -Final. They are a great bunch of lads who give it their all on the field but today was just one of those days. But we will learn from it and we will be back! Our season is not over and we will dust ourselves off and turn our attentions to the League which is there for taking.

We wish Trim the very best of luck in the final in 2 weeks time.
