Our choice: Club Intermediate Footballer of the Year

December 22, 2019

Nobber's Brian Farrell

The senior ranks beckon for Nobber in 2020 after they were the last team standing in this year’s Meath intermediate football championship.

The north Meath club captured a third success in the grade courtesy of an emphatic 4-16 to 0-13 final win over Trim.

Jordan Morris (2-6), Brian Farrell (1-6) and Sean Meade (1-1) enjoyed a field day against the town opposition.

Although it was a bitter pill for the Brendan Murphy managed Trim to swallow, players of the calibre of Gerard Dwane and Aaron Lynch will ensure that they will be contenders once again in 2020.

Castletown also have reason to looking forward to the new year with optimism following their FL Division 3 success and championship showing.

They out to their neighbours Nobber after extra-time in a dramatic semi-final clash and midfielder Declan Cribbin was one of their standout performers all year.

Goalkeeper Daryl Hutchinson saved a penalty that day but the difference between the two teams was the evergreen Brian Farrell who clocked up an outstanding individual tally of 2-10.

There is no disputing who the most influential player in this year’s intermediate football championship was – Brian Farrell.
