Limerick native Christy Phillips was recently ratified as the new manager of the Mayo Senior and U21 hurling teams for 2013.

A resident of Claremorris, Phillips served as a selector to previous manager Murt Connolly for the past two years.

Phillips' backroom team includes Ciaran Hynes (Westport) as coach, Austin Kenny (Tooreen) as selector, and Sean Malee (Kiltimagh) as physio.

The Senior squad have just started training after completing their pre season strength and conditioning program.
