Enda McGinley believes Mayo are dangerous underdogs in Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC final against Kerry.

Three times a Sam Maguire Cup winner with Tyrone, McGinley told RTE that the Kingdom are clear favourites to claim a 40th title but warns that they should not offer Andy Moran’s side any encouragement:

“For me, if Kerry play to their best, they will have too much for Moran’s team at Mayo’s current stage in development.

“But Kerry haven’t found that gear this past two games. There is the possibility that the sheer number of injuries over the course of the year means too many men are at 90%. Like a bit of scar tissue in that gearbox preventing the team hitting top gear.

“Most exciting for me is that I have a distinct feeling, if this Mayo team get a sniff of a chance, they will go after it with a relentless energy that can shift the balance very definitely in their favour.”
