NA PIARSAIGH 3-8

GLEN EMMETS 1-3

Na Piarsaigh were crowned Kevin Mullen Shield champions at Stabannon on Saturday evening after they proved too strong for Glen Emmets in the final.

Despite a slow start, the Dundalk men came good after the first quarter and goals from David Boyle, Michael Woods and Eamonn McAuley saw them come out on top. It was the Tullyallen side who made the brighter start and a goal from Keith Lynch gave them the early initiative.

However, Na Piarsaigh soon found their rhythm and just before the break David Boyle found the net to put his side 1-4 to 1-2 ahead.

The Emmets had the chance to restore the lead two minutes after the break when they won a penalty but Adam Molloy pulled off a fine double save to keep his team in front.

The Dundalk men pushed on from there and a goal from Michael Woods on 41 minutes extended their lead against an Emmets team that never really got going in the second half. Eamonn McAuley added a third goal in the closing stages to seal victory for Na Piarsaigh.
