BIRR 0-6

Hunterstown Rovers eased into the Leinster Junior Championship Final thanks to an impressive display away to the Offaly champions on Sunday afternoon.

The Louth side didn't have to be at their best on the day but still had too much quality as they set up a meeting qualified for a meeting with Kildare's Two Mile House in Newbridge in two weeks.

Hunterstown were never in any real danger after Ryan Burns added further to his growing reputation by firing home the first goal on 12 minutes. After that his side turned in another solid team performance to ensure Louth would have two representatives in the provincial finals this year.

The opening exchanges of the game were relatively even with the visitors edging into a 0-2 to 0-1 lead before Burns hit the net. His side took great confidence from that score and by the interval had stretched the lead to 1-6 to 0-2.

A blistering start to the second half put the result beyond any doubt as three points were added before Alan Landy struck a second goal before the 40th minute.

Hunterstown were in cruise control in the third quarter and they added six points to seal a thoroughly deserved win.
