Dublin made it two wins from two in the Leinster minor football championship yesterday evening after edging out Laois by 1-9 to 1-7 at Parnell Park.
After having led by 0-5 to 0-4 at half-time, the hosts doubled their lead through Ciaran Clifford before Ultan Dunne palmed in a goal which steered Laois in front in the 34th minute.
Clifford tied things up for the capital lads Mubarak Salami cut through and hammered in their goal and, from there, the points of Jimmy Heavey and Salami (free) would help ensure the win for Dublin.

In Newbridge, Kildare made their goals count in a 3-14 to 1-15 victory over neighbours Meath.
Meath finished strong the first-half to take in a 0-10 to 0-6 lead at the interval, but Rory Thompson cut the Lilywhites’ deficit to the minimum with a goal just 30 seconds into the restart.
The visitors looked to have steadied the ship by pushing their lead out to five points, however Kildare would get it back to a one-point game again ahead of TJ Donoghue and Niall McAndrew hammering in goal in the closing stages which sealed their victory.
After having lost their first outing to Meath, Westmeath got on the board with a 3-15 to 2-9 win against Longford in Kinnegad while Carlow recorded a 3-12 to 2-9 victory over neighbours Carlow at Netwatch Cullen Park.

In Hunterstown, hosts Louth were in impressive form as they handed Offaly a 2-26 to 2-17 defeat.
The Wee County’s red-hot start saw them registering 1-7 without reply in the opening 10 minutes, with Connell Kelly bagging their goal off the back of excellent work from Jack Martin.
The home side would go on to lead by 1-13 to 0-11 at the half and stretched their lead to a dozen points ahead of Kelly firing in his second goal, leaving late goals at the other end from substitute Cian Duffy and Cian McNamee mere consolation for the visitors.
