KILKERLEY EMMETS 2-15
ST FECHINS 0-15

Kilkerely Emmets booked their return to the Intermediate Championship Final when they held off the challenge of St Fechins in the semi-final at Darver on Saturday afternoon.

Second half goals from Daniel McKeown and Fintan Brady proved the difference as the North Louth men came through in an entertaining contest.

It was the Fechins who made the brighter start and after Ryan Walsh’s opener was cancelled out by Shane Lennon the Termonfeckin side took with Sean Kerrisk and Ronan Holcroft helping them to lead by 0-5 to 0-2.

Lennon and Ciaran Bellew helped keep the Emmets in touch but with Walsh and Joe Corrigan scoring at the other end, the Fechins went in at the break with a 0-8 to 0-5 advantage.

Kilkerley got back in contention with a goal from Daniel McKeown in the third quarter and despite losing Ciaran Bellew to a second yellow, they drew level when Tadhg McEnaney pointed with just over ten minutes to play.

The Emmets proved the stronger team in the closing stages as points from Lennon and Ciaran McGlynn put them in charge despite replies from Walsh and Corrigan, before Fintan Brady sealed victory when he hit the second goal in the dying moments.
