JOHN MITCHELS 1-6

Naomh Fionnbarra booked a meeting with Lannleire in the Junior Championship Final when they recorded a three-point victory over the John Mitchels in Darver on Saturday afternoon.

The Ballybailie side, with a strong wind at their backs, started brightest and raced into a two-point lead after five minutes.

Conor Osborne and William Woods levelled the game before the former edged his team ahead for the first time.

Woods extended the gap with further points from Woods before Osborne struck the first goal of the game to send his team in with a healthy 1-5 to 0-3 lead at the break.

The Mitchels made the better start to the second half with three points from play coming inside the first 13 minutes of the half as the Finbarrs struggled to get going in the third quarter.

The Togher men managed to re-group after the water break and had points from Eoghan Osborne, Liam Shevlin and Hugh Osborne, to see them move six points clear in the dying minutes.

The Mitchels battled to the end and hit the net through John Gallagher but it was too late to save the game and the Finbarrs held out to book their place in the final.
