Former Dublin star Paddy Christie is set to be appointed Longford senior football manager.
The Ballymun Kickhams clubman has got the nod from the Longford GAA Management Committee to replace Billy O'Loughlin and his name will go before the next county board meeting for ratification.
Christie was a member of David Power’s Tipperary backroom team that masterminded the Premier County's first Munster SFC title since 1935 with an historic victory over Cork at Páirc Uí Chaoim two years ago.
The All-Star full-back also went on to manage the Tipperary U20 footballers and was part of Declan Shaw's proposed management set-up in Mayo.
Following, the conclusion of interviews, the Longford GAA Management Committee will, at the next County Board meeting, be recommending for appointment Paddy Christie as the next manager of the Longford Senior Football Team.
