Dromard club notes

Sympathy: Dromard GAA extends its sympathy to the Ellis and Kiernan families on the death of Kathleen Ellis (née Kiernan), Drumalt, Arva. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam.

Division 1 League: Dromard 0-14 Abbeylara 1-11: Well done to our senior panel and management team on securing a draw against Abbeylara in an entertaining clash in Lynch Park on Saturday evening.

Junior Team: Our second squad played two games in the past week. On Thursday evening, the team put in a very good performance before losing out to a strong Ardagh/Moydow side in Keenan Park in the junior championship. Dromard trailed by 5 points at the break but the scoreline could have been closer only for a number of good saves from the Ardagh /Moydow goalkeeper. The team continued to battle in the second half and created some excellent scoring chances in keeping within touching distance of their opponents throughout. A speedy recovery to Sean McNerney who was very dangerous in attack and had scored several points before being forced off with an injury late in the first half. On Sunday, despite missing a number of regulars, the team put in a strong performance against Granard in Higginstown in the league. Best wishes to Oisin Hourican who picked up a nasty injury in a typically committed challenge on a Granard opponent. Thank you to the management team of Paul Hourican, Stephen Reilly and Jimmy Kiernan for looking after this group.
