St Francis - Dromard Club Notes for issue dated Friday 4th of September

St. Francis/St. Colmcille U18 A Championship: The Semi-Finals for this competition was played Sunday last against a very fancied Longford Slashers minor team. The game started off a fast pace with Longford Slashers going 1-1 ahead, but a fantastic point and a goal from Aaron Farrell, from some excellent passing from Fionn Hourican, brought the teams back to all square. An outstanding penalty save from Ollie Duffy kept us in the game and would keep the game very tight until the end. Unfortunately, we came out the wrong side of a one-point defeat, St. Colmcille's / St. Francis 1 – 8, Longford Slashers 1 – 9.  Best wishes to Longford Slashers in the Final. Thanks to David Pettit, Vincent Reynolds, Paul Hourican, Gabriel Macken, Ciaran Reilly and Danny O’Toole for taking this team to the Semi-Finals. Thanks also to John Duffy and Kevin Hourican on keeping the supporters up to date with proceedings via the Dromard Facebook.

St Francis Minors team will play the C Championship Final on Wednesday v Southern Gaels at 7pm. Best wishes to the team and Management. See Dromard Facebook for more details.

U16 Championship: St Francis Continue their winning ways in the Juvenile Football C Championship with a good win against St Patracks Ardagh. This win puts them into the semi finals of the compitation. Well done to all involved.

U14 Championship is well underway, a clash of the table toppers last week seend St Francis take on a very strong St Colmcilles team. This was an excellent game of football with St. Colmcilles coming out on top. Both teams are on top of the table with 8 points each.
