SENIOR HURLERS
Our senior hurlers were in County Championship quarter final action on Sunday when they faced Ahane in the Gaelic Grounds.
We began the game brightly and were a few points to the good inside the first ten minutes.
Our half back line of Cathal King, David Breen and captain James O Brien were in good form winning their tussles and supplying good ball forward.
Our midfield work tirelessly throughout until Alan Dempsey was forced off through injury in the second half.
The half time score was Na Piarsaigh 1-06 to Ahane 0-04 with our goal coming from the stick of Kevin Downes.
The second half was one way traffic with two further goals coming from Adrian Breen and Kevin Downes.
Overall job done and march on to the semi final and a repeat of last years semi final versus Kilmallock in two weeks time.
Kieran Breen, Niall Buckley, Alan Dempsey, Kevin Ryan and William O Donoghue were our stand out performers on the day.
Final score Na Piarsaigh 3-16 to Ahane 0-08.
We wish Alan Dempsey and John Madden a speedy recovery from injury.

INTERMEDIATE CAMOGIE
The girls were in County quarter final action on Saturday evening in Ballyagran when they faced Tournafulla.
Minus several first team regulars we struggled to field a team but those who did were excellent throughout and proved too good for their opponents.
Our full back line of Aideen McNamara and Clara Dillon excelled throughout snuffing out any danger that came their way.
Olivia Barrett, Jane Wilson and Leanne Egan were solid in the half backline clearing their lines all evening.
In midfield were the excellent Sinead McNamara and man of the match Christine O Shea who covered every blade of grass whilst up front Gemma Healy at center forward and Aoife Wilson at full forward were a thorn in Tournafullas side all night.
Best on the night were Collete McNamara, Christine Farrell, Fiona Grimes,Olivia Barrett,Gemma Healy and Christine O Shea.
