Claughaun Club Notes

February 15, 2010
A Chairde,

On Fri 5/Feb in the club we had our well attended medal presentation for the victorious Senior Football Team that won the City Championship 2008 and our Junior hurlers who won the City 'B' Championship. Club chairman Sean O'Connor presented the medals and wished all players well in the coming season, which preparations are already underway.

Congratulations to Blackrock on their success in winning the Junior All-Ireland Championship last Sat evening in Croke Park.

Senior Hurling:
At the county board meeting last Tues night 9/Feb, the draw was made for the club SHC in which we were drawn in Group 3 along with other city clubs Na Piarsaigh, last years runners up and Patrickswell, with Intermediate champions of 2008, Bruff, providing the remaining team
in the group. A tough draw for Claughaun but nevertheless the hurlers, under the guidance of Mike Galligan, are eagerly awaiting these clashes.

Senior Football:
On Tues 2/Feb the draw pitted us in Group 1 with St. Patrick's, Monaleen, last year's County senior football champions Dromcollogher/Broadford, St. Kieran's and County Intermediate winners of 2008 Ballysteen. Management team led by Liam Galligan are setting plans in place
in anticipation of these fixtures.

U21H:
Training in the pitch on Sat 20/Feb @ 2.30pm.

Training for both codes, all teams, continues in the pitch each Tues & Thur nights @ 7pm sharp.

County & City League/Championship fixtures are near finalisation and will be posted here once made available by the respective boards.
