Galbally Club Notes

April 30, 2018

Galbally GAA are delighted to have two winners in the Limerick GAA Development Draw last weekend. Congratulations to Paul O Halloran on winning €2000 in this morning's club Limerick Draw. It is Paul's second time coming out big having won the top prize just a few years ago! Also congratulations to John Dillon London on winning €100

The Galbally Junior Football team were beaten by 2-8 to 0-4 by Galtee Gaels in the South League on Sunday night last. The team was Kevin Denihan, William Ryan, Aidan Sheehan, Pat Cussen, Billy Donoghue, Pa Murphy, Mikey O Dwyer, Podge Hyland, Deckie Dineen, Tom Cussen, Jason Dineen, Jonathan Scully (0-1), Cathal Flynn (0-1), Quinn Perry, Darren Sheedy (0-2). Subs: Eoin Bourke and Micheal McCabe.

The team is a mix of youth and experience and will look to provide gametime to a number of players over the course of the year and hopefully help some of the younger players to step onto the Intermediate stage. Podge Hyland at midfield captained Galbally to win the Limerick Intermediate Football Championship in 2010. His midfield partner Deckie Dineen captained Galbally to win the County Minor B Football Championship in 1999. Quinn Perry was part of the panel that won the Limerick Senior Football Championship in 1997. Cathal Flynn, Mikey O'Dwyer and Micheal McCabe were part of the Galbally Feile Peil team from 2014 that travelled to Galway and reached the knockout stages.
