Recent Wedding

Congratulations to Kian Beck and Claire Judge who got married recently. Kian is a former player and Claire is a coach with Bórd na nÓg. We wish the great couple and their young family every happiness in the years to come.

Dinner Dance

The Awards and Presentation Dinner Dance was a great success in the beautiful surroundings of Lough Rynn Castle Hotel on Saturday night last. We thank our special guest Eamonn Duignan who presented the senior team with their Div1 league medals. Eamonn played for Mohill and Leitrim for many years. He is the driving force behind Leitrim Supporters Club but he never forgets his roots in Mohill. The family have a long history with the club, his father was Chairman in the seventies, Uncle Johnny, one of Mohill’s greatest workers and his three brothers Micheál, Gerry, and Seamus were excellent footballers. Presentations were also made to two great servants who are taking a short break this year. Padraig McLoughlin former Chairman led the club for the last seven years and they were great years of football and fundraising with Padraig to the fore in everything.  Therese Foy an amazing lady who can be called on to do any job to perfection was also acknowledged on the night. Nothing is too difficult for Therese, she solves everyone’s problems. We hope both Padraig and Therese are only taking short naps and will be back again very soon. The players made a presentation to Ciaran Reidy General Manager, Director, Lough Rynn Castle Hotel. Ciaran has gone beyond the call of duty for many years now in sponsorship of Mohill GAA and the players really appreciate him. Hopefully they will make him proud again in 2020.

County Boys

When you consider the size of Cork and that it’s only ten years since they have won an Al- Ireland Leitrim were great to be able to compete against such strength and every player played his part. The Mohill boys as usual played out of their skins with Keith Beirne scoring profusely from play and frees, Shane Quinn defending stoutly and Domhnaill Flynn not putting a foot wrong. Keith Keegan and James Mitchell are not featuring so far but their day will come. Next Sunday we play Longford managed by our former manager and good friend Padraic Davis in Glennon Pearse Park.
