Gerry Fahy has been named as the new manager of the Galway Ladies football team.

Fahy had been a member of outgoing boss Tim Rabbitt’s backroom team last year when the team lost out to Cork in the All-Ireland SFC semi-final.

Fahy was Galway U21 manager leading the men’s side to the 2017 All-Ireland final and also was Offaly senior manager, during which he oversaw the Faithful County’s Allianz FL Division 2 title success in 2004.

He also managed NUI Galway to a Sigerson Cup in 2013.
