Teams in Skerries Harps will resume training today (Friday) but the Dublin club is adopting a cautious approach.

Last Sunday, the club's Executive took the decision to suspend all activity until further notice after there were a number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the wider community.

In a statement issued last night, the coastal town outfit updated their members: “Skerries Harps have been following all relevant protocols and guidelines &  while to date we have been informed of no case which can be traced back to any club activity, we intend to proceed cautiously with all due care.

“With this in mind the club has decided to restart activity on a phased basis.

“We will start back this Friday by facilitating training for teams who are in competitive action this weekend.

“All other scheduled training sessions and challenge games will be cancelled for all other teams.

“This is an ongoing situation and will be assessed again on Sunday evening by the Club Executive.

“The club bar will remain closed this weekend.

“Any club members who have symptoms of Covid 19, who are close contacts of a confirmed case or who have been asked to self-isolate or restrict their movements by Public Health are asked not to take part in any club matches/training.

“Skerries Harps will continue to liaise with Public Health and to follow all guidelines from the HSE, government and the GAA.”
