Meath ladies football great Mary Sheridan has hung up her boots after 20 years playing adult football.
Seneschalstown’s exit from the Meath SFC at the hands of Dunboyne yesterday brought the curtain down on a glittering inter-county and club career.
The former International Rules player and three- time Cic Fada winner’s medal collection includes 1 Leinster SFC and All-Ireland U-16 medals.
At club level, she accumulated 13 SFC souvenirs.
“Thanks for the memories Mary,” Seneschalstown said in a Facebook post detailing her exploits on the field.
“Words could never do justice to your contribution to the club. It has been a pleasure to see you pull on the jersey over the years and you have set standards on and off the pitch.”
TweetAfter over 20 years lining out at adult level for the club, @MSinjuryclinic hung her boots up last night. Words will never do her contribution to the club justice. Thanks for the memories Mary, it's been our privilege. https://t.co/f1LkVM38Mv #ThanksMary #Legend pic.twitter.com/pWHz82GDUa
