Derek Lyng has been reappointed Kilkenny senior hurling manager for a third year.

It means that he will see out the three year-term he was intially handed after Brian Cody brought the curtain down on his long reign in 2022.

Lyng's first two years have yielded Leinster SHC titles, but the Cats have fallen short of All-Ireland success, losing last year's final to Limerick and this year's semi-final to Clare after a late fadeout.

Kilkenny GAA have also confirmed that Mark Dowling and Niall Bergin will be remaining as U20 and minor managers respectively.
