New Kerry senior hurling coach Conor Gleeson has been impressed by what he's seen from the Kingdom's players so far.
Gleeson has succeeded Brian Horgan on fellow Tipperary man Eamonn Kelly's management team and - with the start of the national hurling league imminent - it has been a case of so far, so good.
"I think the lads with their ability and their enthusiasm have surpassed my expectations to be honest," the former Premier County captain states in The Kerryman.
"I would have an idea about the love of hurling and the passion for hurling that is in areas of Kerry, so it's fantastic to come down and find that in fact my expectations have been surpassed.
"I am delighted to find that their skill levels and the effort that theses fellows are putting in are on a par with the Tipperarys. Everything that is being done here is the same as what is being done in Tipperary and, in fairness to the County Board, anything that we have asked for, it's done."
