just back from Navan, entertaining afternoon of hurling. overthehill72 (Meath) - Posts: 334 - 19/09/2015 16:48:33 1789303 Link 0 |
I wouldn't call today's games in Pairc Tailteann exciting, anything but. Terrible standard of hurling. Dunboyne showed all they're now familiar trait of "bottling" a lead. Kiltale will wipe the floor with them in semi. Trim just went through the motions against a poor Blackhall team. Expect Trim to improve a lot and challenge Kildalkey in an excellent semi final to look forward to. Redman7 (Meath) - Posts: 81 - 19/09/2015 20:47:15 1789366 Link 0 |
On another note any of ye who have voted for Callanan for hurler of the year need to have another tink about it,, super performance against Galway yes but didn't show up at all in Munster final was terrible that day was good in the other games but streets behind Reid otherlad (Meath) - Posts: 144 - 21/09/2015 11:00:29 1789957 Link 0 |
Amazing how the junior hurling managed to be played off so quick this year. Junior final being played even before the Foley91 (Meath) - Posts: 418 - 21/09/2015 15:52:46 1790201 Link 0 |
Agreed Foley91 - Kildalkey's fixtures are perfect. Compare that to poor Trim where Toher, Douglas, Heffernan and the rest will be playing their 3rd championship match in just over a week. Belt (Meath) - Posts: 274 - 21/09/2015 16:06:15 1790210 Link 0 |
Trim v Dunboyne Final - Trim will beat all round them at the moment those lads are loving all theses games. Kiltale and Kildalkey are sitting duck's. The weekend will bring Trim & Dunboyne on. Trim pushed Kiltale around Kildalkey and will do the same again on Kildalkey at weekend. Dunboyne fought hard over Kilyon and it will stand to them against Kiltale. Kiltale are on the back foot after the Trim defeat and don't know where they are on the field. it will be the most physical that will win and as it stands it is Trim. I disagree about Trim's fixtures. It is their third game in 8 days simply because of the u21 hurling all ireland. James Andrews, McGrath and O'rourke were not available that weekend.. this was the weekend the 1/4 finals were supposed to be played. Trim have no complaints regarding fixtures. Dual players have always had this issue and always will. overthehill72 (Meath) - Posts: 334 - 22/09/2015 10:11:11 1790503 Link 0 |
I know that Overthehill but should clubs be punished for having players in an All Ireland final? Obviously playing 3 games in 8 days will have an effect, mightn't be until the last ten mins but of course it will come into play Belt (Meath) - Posts: 274 - 22/09/2015 10:53:27 1790540 Link 0 |
Rest and recovery between games is vital for players between games as has been highlighted by Croke Park a lot over the last number of years. For the Trim lad's injury will be an issue no matter what anyone says if they playing 3 big championship games in a week not to mention player burnout!!! Sounds ridiculous in this day and age if it happening and I'm sure they will also have to train on top of these matches !!! 91m (Meath) - Posts: 6 - 22/09/2015 10:59:06 1790545 Link 0 |
think there was the little matter of a wedding in Trim also. Trim are happy with the fixtures when all things are considered numberedjerseys (USA) - Posts: 352 - 22/09/2015 11:27:46 1790581 Link 0 |
trim wont be at much training just recovery , there very physical and just the team kildalkey dont want, kildalkey would take dunboyne any day over having to dog it out with trim in a semi final, id say it could be a clssic and iv a feeling that whoever wins could topple kiltale in the final, i think trim might sneak it though, there scoring goals which kildalkey arent , good few issues with lads carrying injuries too with kildalkey plus no momentum in a crap group. it all points to trim being the form team and winng also they have fresher younger players than kildalkey who are still relying on 7 or 8 players in their 30s dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 832 - 22/09/2015 13:47:58 1790708 Link 0 |
Dunboyne vs Kiltale: Watched this game in the group stages and honestly thought Dunboyne were the better team on the day but didnt convert some simple chances which must be done against the likes of Kiltale. If Dunboyne show up mentally and do not lapse at any stage of the game i can see them winning. Then again, Kiltale are always very hard bet! Dunboyne by 2. I believe Kiltale will have a lot to spare over Dunboyne. Although Trim beat them in the last group game Kiltale had nothing to play for. They are the form team and are a long way ahead of the others at the moment. Kildalkey are the only team that will get close to Kiltale but it won't be enough to stop them winning 2 in a row. kiltale tend to get rattled and fall behind in games yet still finish very strongly because of their strength in depth. there fit and have great subs something other teams dont have. there isnt a weak link on the the kiltale team and that is usally the sign of a champioship winning team dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 832 - 23/09/2015 20:39:22 1791600 Link 0 |
Wouldn't be getting carried away with all this Trim talk. They'll be doing very well to beat Kildalkey. Don't know how they can be labelled the most physical team in the championship, it's the same team if not weaker than the group that rolled over and got their belly tickled in the county final last year. begining (UK) - Posts: 321 - 24/09/2015 09:21:10 1791652 Link 0 |
Trim dual players will not be fresh after the tough game against Nobber that went to extra time on Tuesday night. Kildalkey have been focusing on this game for weeks. Based on that Kildalkey are justified favorites. Kiltale actually got a wake up call in the last round and will up their game against Dunboyne. So I would say you are looking at a Kiltale Kildalkey final. oldsam_newsam (Meath) - Posts: 638 - 24/09/2015 12:47:16 1791767 Link 0 |
Looking forward to weekend semi's. Have seen a lot of Kildalky this year not to many worth going to.This plays into the others hands, nip and tuck right through the group, not an awful lot between them.lack of top games has to have an effect on them , doesn't mean there a bad team.winner will come from the other three.only my opinion. Haven't seen trim play since the dunboyne game where they were mediocre. They seem to have lost a lot in the likes of Doyle and Moran, do they have anyone to fill these boots? Kildalkey deserve the tags as favourites and will be hard stopped if Dorans , Keoghs and Connellys can perform. 2 great games in Navan at the weekend. The two best teams in the county will contest the final for the first time in years. begining (UK) - Posts: 321 - 28/09/2015 21:07:20 1793335 Link 0 |
