Replying To CavanAgain:  "[quote=PatTheDandy:  "[quote=PatTheDandy:  "I expect Ramor to beat Cavan Gaels comfortably - Ramor by about 5 points.

I think Lavey will trouble Castlerahan greatly and I am more or less 50/50 on this one, But as they are my 2nd Favourites to lift the Cup I will have to go with Castlerahan by 1.

I think Xlough are a touch overhyped but should dispose of the 7th best team in the competition in Gowna quite easily with a strong first half blitz and hold on to win. Xlough by 5.

More of a battle than alot of people probably expect I would think, but Kingscourt by to beat Mullahoran by 5."
3 out of the 4 games predicted to a tee in the descriptions, right down to Xlough's first half blitz and Kingscourts struggle with Mullahoran.

Once again I have allowed my bias towards the Gaels transfer policy sway me from the prudent prediction. Ramor were under par on the day but anyone who was at the game like myself would not be in any doubt that McKiernan was the difference between the teams.

Thinking clearly and head over-ruling heart again at this moment in time, the Gaels are now worthy red hot favourites and should breeze past Kingscourt by 6+.

On the other semi, there is more future potential in years to come to topple the Gaels in Xlough than their is in the Rahan, but I think a competitive county final needs a Caslerahan win here, in what is probably a 50/50 game, but I will go with Castlerahan by 1 in both the semi's and the final.

If you were to ask me for a value tip in terms of an #AskPaddy bet of the Semi's; I would probably suggest Padraig Faulkner to score 1 or more goals Vs the Gaels might be worth a few bob."
You speak a lot about the Gaels's transfer policy but you never mention Castlerahan or Ramor's fondness for a transfer or two. Both Castlerahan and Ramor have been much more active in the transfer market in recent seasons than the Gaels.."]I wouldn't know where to find them now, but I am fairly sure I criticised Castlerahan's transfer policy in the past. I think I'm one of the most fair and neutral posters on this forum. The Rahan seem to have all and only players that are actually from Castlerahan playing with them this year, thus I have no need to comment on their transfer policy.

In terms of Ramor, insofar as I was aware, their signings were just relocated Guards. I take no objection to that. The Guards has to be let play football too."]Oisín Kiernan is not originally from castlerahan

I would agree on Shane Tierney, Cormac Daly, Ollie Ward, Barry Reilly & Barry Tully. All of those are good to go at the county level and would offer something different straight away.

Don't think those I have left out have a huge amount to offer the county in terms of improving what is already there.

Apologies, I typed Ollie Ward instead of Cormac O' Reilly by mistake above.

We seen the colour of one corner forwards shorts enough against Monaghan thanks all the same.

A few very interesting quarter finals to look forward to in the intermediate championship this weekend, very surprising to see Cuchulainns out so early having been in the final 2 seasons ago and the semi finals last yeah. Drumlane gone is a surprise too as they done well last year also. Here's my predictions for this weekend.

Ballyhaise v Cootehill - This will be closer than people think but i expect Ballyhaise to win by 4

Bailieborough v Ballymachugh - Bailieborough appear to be flying and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the final, Bailieborough by 6

Ballinagh v Belturbet - Very hard to know what way this will go, Ballinagh only managed 0-9 in round 3 but then scored 1-23 last weekend, I'll go for Ballinagh by 1 after extra time.

Butlersbridge v Killinkere - Another one that's hard to call, I'll go for Killinkere by 2

These intermediate Games are all tough to call this week bar the first one, Not a great week for the accumlator;

Ballyhaise v Cootehill - Should be a routine win for Ballyhaise. By about 5 to 11 points.

Bailieborough v Ballymachugh - They will probably need a referee who is not too trigger happy with whistle to limit scoreable frees conceded, but I have a sneaky feeling Ballymachugh could snatch this one, by 1.

Ballinagh v Belturbet - Reviewing the group stages doesn't really towards a conclusion here. Expect it to be much closer this week but will go with Ballinagh by 1. Belturbet to keep themselves in the game with a few goals but Niall McDermott's point taking the difference between the teams.

Butlersbridge v Killinkere - My two dark early horses. I will go with Bridge by 2. Killinkere a touch reliant on being a goal scoring team and I think the Bridge are experts at setting up to prevent goals and that might prove the difference.

In the absence of the ever relaible goal machine that is Padraig Faulkner, this weekends #AskPaddy tip is 3 or more red cards in the Belturbet V Ballinagh game.

Ballyhaise v Cootehill - I predict Ballyhaise will run out winners here by between 1-99 points.

How do you get the idea that the Bridge are experts at setting up to concede goals, they've conceded the most goals of any team in the quarter finals, 7 in total, and haven't kept a clean sheet in any of their games to date.

It is always possible to find a set of statistics to suit your argument if ones will is great enough Drumalee11. But that does not mean that same argument is necessarily correct.

If one was silly enough to just go on the group stages this year alone, Kingscourt would have beaten Mullahoran by 20 points last week.

To back up this point, I will go so far as to put my considerable neck on the line and change the #AskPatDandy tip for the weekend to: Butlersbridge not to concede anymore than 1 goal v Killinkere.

You said Bridge were experts at setting up not to concede goals but they have conceded 7 in 4 games. How many would they concede if they were not experts

B team out v Arva. Ramor B's taken for granted. That leaves 3 against Cootehill in an early round and held a decent Drumlane team to a miserly 1-8.

They had everyone out against arva as far as I can see from the celt. they are going to struggle against good teams with bad kickouts and average backline. Would't surprise me if KKere bet them

2 from 2 for me so far this weekend. Bailieborough would have won by much more if the ref didn't do everything in his power to make it a draw.

100%. Bailieboro were very impressive tonight I taught.. dodgy at the back but Some quality footballers in that side . Shameful for the ref to give that penalty at the end, could have that cost them a deserved semi final place.

3 out 6 for the weekend. As good as any other of the brave tipsters but a disappointing weekend by my own standards. Let down by a tame display from Belturbet both in terms of scoreline, aggression, and general bad manners. Neutral lines-persons perhaps proving an obstacle in the c'ship. Perhaps the Bridge are less cynically setup in recent years than I suspected but still got the job done.

Bailieborough deserved to win against a fairly poor Ballymachugh for whom Buchanan was excellent but shouldn't get carried away with their performance. It was a poor standard of Intermediate football that game and closer to Junior I would suggest.

Butlersbridge by 7 & Ballyhaise by 2 in the semis I would suggest.

Its pretty obvious at this stage who the three winners will be, the Gaels at senior, Ballyhaise at intermediate and Templeport at Junior barring any major injuries to key players .
