Dublin earned their second win of the Allianz Football League Division 1 campaign by dealing Roscommon a 1-21 to 2-7 defeat at a soaking wet Dr Hyde Park this afternoon.
Ger Brennan’s side backed up a promising start that saw them hitting the first four points before Luke Breathnach hammered in their goal in the 12th minute.
Two-pointers from Sean Bugler, Eoin Kennedy, Hugh O’Sullivan and Paddy Small followed from the capital men as they ran up a 1-13 to 0-0 lead on the stunned hosts who registered their first point via Robert Heneghan in the 27th minute.
Daire Cregg bagged a sorely needed goal for the Rossies before half-time, as they went in trailing by 1-14 to 1-1, and they’d goal again through Dylan Ruane in the 52nd minute but the Dubs still remained in firm control.
Alex Gavin, Killian McGinnis and Ross McGarry sent over the visitors last three points as they moved out of the top tier’s relegation zone by handing their Connacht counterparts a second defeat of the campaign.
