DUBLIN BUS ARE JUST THE TICKET FOR ST. JAMES' GAELS

St James Gaels is one of the many organisations who are on board with Dublin Bus having been awarded €2,000 euro in the Company's Community Support Programme for 2010.

Juvenile Chairman Billy Hannigan said that the grant from Dublin Bus would enable the club to continue to provide Gaelic football in a family friendly and fun environment for children in Crumlin, Walkinstown and Drimnagh.

"We have been replacing much of our training gear and equipment this year and the support of Dublin Bus will go a great distance in ensuring that all of our teams have everything they need" said Billy Hannigan.

Billy said that the Club could also look to replacing jersies etc for some of their teams with this very generous grant.

Seven different Dublin Bus routes stop outside the Iveagh Grounds on the Crumlin Road but there will be no stopping Gaels with this "welcome recognition by Dublin Bus of the importance of the work our voluntary coaches and mentors put in with the children of the area" said Mr Hannigan.

Gaels offer a welcome to everybody irrespective of their ability and promise to ensure that their voluntary coaches will transform enthusiasm and effort into skill and enjoyment on the Gaelic Football field.

With an impressive range of facilities in the Iveagh Grounds on the Crumlin Road and its well appointed playing fields in the grounds of Drimnagh Castle St James Gaels welcomes anyone with an interest in Gaelic Football with open arms.

St James Gaels currently fields two mens adult Gaelic football teams, a Ladies team and juvenile teams from Under 9 to Under 18 age levels. In addition, for 5 to 8 year olds, we run our Gaels All-Stars Academy in the grounds of Drimnagh Castle school which introduces boys and girls to Gaelic football in a friendly and fun atmosphere. We also have a Girls only training session - St James Gals - to help in ensuring that girls participate more fully. A developing section for Girls teams is currently fielding girls teams at both Under 9 and Under 13.
