Hard work pays off for Donaghy and Derry minors

Derry captain Matthew Donaghy says winning last night's 2020 Ulster MFC final gave him an 'indescribable' feeling.
The Oak Leafers got their hands on the provincial minor silverware for the first time since 2017, defeating holders Monaghan in a hard-fought decider at Healy Park.
Donaghy, who was a central figure in the 1-15 to 0-15 success, could not hide his delight, when speaking to Derry GAA afterwards.

“That feels good, it's been a really long time and to get the reward that we deserve, putting in so much work, it’s indescribable really," the Lavey youngster said.
"It was super high intensity, there were boys cramping quite a bit, to get through that game was amazing."
A year long wait brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic made the victory all the more sweet.
Downey added: "There were probably times where you're sitting thinking why am I going to train because there's no match but to win makes all that hard work worth it."
