Ha :)

I really think Lenihan is too good a player to be on the bench,I think he would be excellent as a half-forward,well able to take scores, good passer of the ball, and winning breaking ball..

County: Meath

What about playing him in that peter Harte/Karl Lacey role? Not picking up a player full time, more sweeping up then attacking everytime the team move forward.

Just an idea

Ziggy I'm curious as to why you would put McConnell starting wing back for championship when the lad has close to no game time in the league?

I think McConnell has a bit about him, good energy and bit more physical than some of the other half backs, and sure Forde and Carroll came from nowhere to play in last years champ..

Yes Jinxie I think that idea or my own is better than him as a wing-back in a 3 man half back line. You could play a two man full forward line, drop one into the half forwards and play Lenehan in that sweeper role.

Ziggy for next Meath manager :) he knows the game inside out!! :D sweepers, 2 inside forward line, breaking ball.. Just give him the job already!! Be interesting to see what the team will be.. I don't think Harrington should play corner back.. Anytime he plays there, always seems to get caught out!! Davy Dalton surely in with a chance and really need two solid midfielders that can drive at the oppositions defence.. All the top teams have at least one!! Opens up a lot of space for the forwards to work in!! Meath have a lot of talented footballers but when they play county together, never seem to play well!! Need a good work ethic and never say die attitude installed in them!!

O Rourke
Keoghan
K Reilly
Curran
Lenihan
Menton
Dalton
Meade
Gillespie
Kenny
Carroll or Tormey
G Reilly
Gilsenan or Wallace
Bray
Newman

Peadar is not fit enuf to start ... good impact sub.
Kenny could drop back to defend whe Lenihan goes forward.
Meade could interchange with Biggy as they did against Wicklow last year.

Cheers,I shall apply when Micko is gone(hopefully not for a long time yet) :)

We have talented players, but we lack the right balance, you defo need a top class midfielder, and whereas we have forwards with potential,it's getting the balance right and the players who are willing to learn and work harder..
As for Harro I think he is a good sub,but not a starter in my mind anyway..

I think a point worth mentioning, is,the fact that we all have our ideas, but it's very difficult to pick the BEST 15,even Micko and the selectors would not know it.So if someone can raise their game, they could well be a permanent fixture..
