Surely Kevin Lyons from Summerhill is worth a spot on the panel. Top scorer for his junior team last year and could be worth development

Surely Michael Farely from Na Fianna will make it along with some other team-mates such as downey. Saw him play against Nobber a few weeks back and he kept Brian Farrell quiet for the whole game (Got a box to the eye for his troubles). His strength, agility and outstanding pace would be a match to any other man to make this panel. Bright prospect for the future

I think farrell is over-rated though, only does well when he has a lot of space

Outrageous that there isnt more u21 lads on the panel !! Good few of them available and surely upto the standard required! Also baffled to hear bective have 5 representatives on the panel and the donaghmore team that beat them have none ! Surely a mistake by management???

Havoc that's not a bad team, what about Rory maguire from Longwood one or two lads from Ballinabrackey would be worth a shot. Would like to see a couple of last years minors and this year 21's giving a chance plenty of talent there. Should be a mixture of youth and lads with experience

It seems to be a shambles of a set up, under-resourced, hopelessly scouted and paid lip service to by the establishment. Seems that a team which should ostensibly be Meath's second team has a very narrow focus. I know they were trashed by Kells last weekand I was told they looked rudderless and were ran into the ground. Plan needs immediate revising

Manager is Damien Griffin orginally a Na fianna man but was involved with ballivor last year.

Greatwhitedope the juniors are not and never have been a 2nd meath team for reasons explained elsewhere on this forum. In fact until it is actually a proper 2nd Team the co. board should look at it and see is it worthwhile taking part in this competition.

Was thinking of last year. Knew there was a new manager but was paying much attention when replying to the initial post.

Johnsee, I'm aware that the Juniors are not Meath's second team, are you aware of what the words 'should' and 'ostensibly' mean? (Takes sip from saucer of milk). What I'm saying is, which I thought was clear in my last post, is that (a) it should be and (b) that even in it's current state it should serve a purpose which it is not doing for a number of reasons. It seems to me that whoever is the manager picks players mainly from his catchment area/same championship. It's so badly organised that a lot of players that are asked, won't go. The powers that be have a lot to answer for here as it's not seen as a stepping stone due to the restrictions imposed on it from without. Also some players' egoes need checking when it comes to this level, regardless of it's limitations, it's still an opportunity to represent your county.

dont think wallace and newman would be overly happy if they end up playing junior for the year, seeing as they're both doing very well at the minute for the first team
