If you were at the game last night you would have seen Dunboyne won the game because they stopped O'Mahonys full foward line of Robbie Keelaghan, David Dillion and Corey Leddy from getting on the ball Dunboyne played a blanket defence with 2 men dropping back infront of them as they known how clinical and dangerous these men can be on their day, they have been one of the main reasons why O'Mahonys have been so successful at this age group for the last 3 years and Dunboyne would have learned from their group match in Dunboyne this year when Corey Leddy tormented their full back line and scored 2-1 of the O'Mahonys 2-5 tally and im fully confident O'Mahonys will bounce back from last nights disappointment and kick on and win the Minor Championship

Surely that's the objective of any teams defence, to shut out the opposition forward line, should Dunboyne not deserve more credit for the victory as oppposed to the failure of O'Mahoney's forward line to function. For a team that were dropping two extra men back into defence they still racked up a decent score.

You cant say they stopped the O mahonys full forward line as Keelagahan scored 4 points and Dillon got 1-2! Young boylan kept Cory leddy vitually out of the game but i thought Dillon got the better of lavin and keelaghan did too! the winning of the game for dunboyne was the breakdown they won about 70% of the breaking ball

If you watched the game you would also of noticed that Robbie Keelaghan only got 1 of his 4 points from play and if you watched you would of seen that Boylan wasnt the only man marking Corey Leddy they double up on him and there was 2 men on him throughout the game but he still bet Boylan to most balls lastnight and was fouled most times he got on the ball by Dunboyne and what won the game for Dunboyne lastnight was the 2 goals within a minute of eachother at a critical time in the second half

To be fair to Dunboyne they went out with a game plan and it worked, I don't see whats wrong with their tactics of modern day football. In the 1st half it was not as effective as Navan working the ball around these extra men to work some great scores to say the least. I thought Navan could have got back into the game after Dunboyne got their two goals as they missed some crucial frees in the later stages of the match. Credit has to go to both teams for a great entertaining game all the same.

When is the championship starting does anyone know ? Will it be like last year whenever the meath minors are finished in the championship. I personally felt it worked out well as it made the championship more exciting especially under floodlights.

Dunboyne are far stronger than Ashbourne who are in my opinion a 3/4 man team where as Dunboyne have 7/8 stong players. Dunboyne to win by 5+

Dunboynes past few minor teams have shown that 7/8 good players means nothing, it will all come down to the day.

I see 2 of the 3 Finals played today as usual Dunboyne and ashbourne get away without playing while the Div 2 & 3 teams just get on with it. Ashbourne probaly be without Deegan so did not want to play and while Dunboyne have feck all on the County Minors they musta had lads away as it did not go ahead. Na Fianna it seems where missing a few lads but played Anthony Neary did his best but had not much help and a stronger Michaels team beat them as Ronan Lynch did a lot of scoring for them. Dunshaughlin where best in Div 2 but struggled to pull away David Reilly, Stephan Duffy and Oisin Foley looked really good. Kevin Ryan did well for Summerhill
