Minor Football League 2013

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Hopefully we see someone other then dunboyne ashbourne rathoath compete come championship , Vincents/Curragha although not going well in the league could be a different outfit come championship with 3 meath minors still to come into the team and 1 or 2 who just missed out on the panal, Simonstown could also be contenders. Looks like being one of the most open minor championships since Omahoneys 2010

Just looking at division 2, there seems to be a mistake. I noticed this in other divisions too. St colcilles were beaten by trim by 1-08 to 0-08 and not the other way around. So that means the table is incorrect. Do you know if the county board put these results up and make fixtures (semi final) based on these tables?

I don't know either. Our club don't always send in reports so not sure what happens. Hopefully there not the tables used by the county board.
Does anyone else know what happens?

The omahonys are nailed on for a league and championship double. They are so far unbeaten in the league and have not been at full strength, the have at 10 players involved with st pats heading into next weeks all Ireland final , as soon as they can field their best 15 no team will get near them as has been the case over the last 3 or 4 years with this team.

like the past two years the usuals being talked up here your ashbournes, navan's, duboyne's etc etc league means nothing and ratoath will do usual and ambush the whole of meath with their stylish classy football its just a pity nobody recognises it until after they've won their championships

The Tables on the Meath web are the Official Tables if there is a mistake then someone in the Clubs should contact the Minor Secretary and get it corrected.

meathforsam11 are you seriously saying ratoath will be a force in the championship! Is this the same ratoath team that got beaten by st Vincent's/Curragha in the U17 final last year, got destroyed by Navan O'Mahonys, absolutely torn to pieces by st Vincent's/Curragha again, didn't even show up against dunboyne and by some define miracle beat Don/Ash second team. We'll good luck with that!

G'lad there NMG1 getting the facts wrong as usual, weather stopped the game against dunboyne, and Michael deegan i believe was the only man missing for ashbourne.typical comments on this about ratoath but they always seem to have the last laugh.do you ever learn? i'd say you were here last claiming the exact same things about ratoath.they seem to have found a bit of a squad with one particular sub making a huge impact against ashbourne

You might have got away with it last year because you had eamon Wallace and Brian power. This year you don't have any where near as good as good as lasts year. Dunboyne, O'Mahonys, don/ash, and st Vincent's/Curragha at full strength will destroy this ratoath team. don/ash and dunboyne will be out for revenge after ratoaths antics against them both last year!

Raoath didn't field against Dunboyne. Dunboyne got the points.

I'd have to agree that o'mahonys are favourites for the league and championship . Conor Murphy at midfield looks like the star man at the minute , Hopefully for them he wont be called up to davey nelsons senior panel until minor is over.

Why can't the Minor league continue?

If there are 6 divisions X 6 teams we could be talking about 700 players, then why does this happen every year? The whole league is Grind to a halt for 30 or 40 county players! Please explain to me how this is good for Meath Football?

Same old, same old,

Don/Ash V Dunboyne, called off for the second time with 3 hours notice. Whole families planning a bank holiday weekend around a fixture that ClounsRus decide to call off. The result of this fixture is not important, these clubs could have played it without their county players, worst case scenario for either team is to play Ratoath or Curraha in a playoff for semi spot!!!!!

Its and absolute disgrace the way the Minor Football League in Meath is being run! Calling off all games in the county because the Meath minors have a match in 7 days is a joke. They new if the meath minors won on wednesday that they would be out saturday week so why can I ask did they fix the Minor Club games in the first place if they were going to call them off straight away? My club still have 2 rounds to play and we havent played since easter Monday. Why do they expect club minor players and managers to accept this? Our match that we were suppose to have played today was fixed 2 weeks ago and was again called off because the meath minors bottled it against Offaly and yet the club gets punished!

BigJoe14, sorry to hear about the minor football league slowing up. It seems the MFL is now a bit like the minor hurling league since the start of the year, NON EXISTANT. Minor hurlers had a very sparce year last year, and the great planning powers that be have come up with another spectacular farce this year.

If I'm not mistaken, 2012 minor league final is yet to be played? With blackhall gaels?
