They Certainly have serious pace in the forward ling. the wallaces and McMahon offer them plenty upfront but are they strong enough all over to win it and compete at Senior?

Ratoath are the Favourites but you right the East Meath Colmcilles are quietly sitting back no word on them they need to be watched also Kells have a great chance and are playing well but watch Castletown brave Castletown as the poem goes the Daddies of them all whoever beats them will win it out

ST COLMCILLES WILL WIN INTERMEDIATE,RATOATH NEED ANOTHER YEAR AT INTERMEDIATE TO DEVELOP MORE BUT ARE AN UP AND COMING YOUNG TEAM.IF THEY CAN HOLD ON TO MOST OF THEIR PALYERS THEY WILL GROW STRONGER AND STRONGER OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS LIKE NA FIANNA BUT THEY MUST HOLD ON TO THEIR PLAYERS LIKE NA FIANNA HAVE DONE,QUEENEY BEEN LEFT OUT OF MEATH PANEL HAS WORKED WONDERS FOR THE CLUB,STRAIGHT UP TO DIV 1 AS THEY HAVE FULL PANEL TO PICK FROM.CASTLETOWN HAVE NO CHANCE OF WINNING IT NOR CARNAROSS,MY OWN CLUB THE BRACKS GETTING IT HARD TO COPE WITH LOSING 7 PLAYERS FROM TEAM THAT CONTESTED SEMIS LAST YEAR THROUGH EMIGRATION AND INJURIES,CILLES FOR ME WITH KELLS TO GIVE THEM MOST TO THINK ABOUT.

Write off Castletown at you peril remember you read it here. Carnaross are lucky there is no relegation

Stop shouting lutch!!! Castletown seem to think they're a far bigger force than they are, although that's nothing new. I feel the winner will come from either Dunderry or Kells

Have seen most teams this year and feel ratoath will take some stopping..kells and Castletown look strong too..don't think cilles are there yet.kells would hammer them at the moment from what ive seen..just my opinion!

Kells ratoath game will be unreal for neutrals

Yes I agree! Anyone saying intermediate standard is bad should watch either ratoath or kells as both play great attacking football.

Ratoath should win it, but they are still quite a long way off senior standard. They have a strong forward line but their backs would really struggle against senior teams

I think the winner will definitely come from either Castletown, Ratoath, Kells or the Cilles.
Playing Div 1 football will stand to Castletown in the latter stages and could take it.. Verdict-Semi Final
Ratoath favourites for this grade and rightfully so. Haven't been tested in the Championship as of yet which could be their downfall. If they hold their nerve they should win outright. Verdict-Winners
Hard to tell with St.Colmcilles, if they play to their potential they would beat every side in the Intermediate Championship, big if though. Haven't delivered on potential in the past, history would suggest a similar fate for the seasiders this year Verdict-Finalists
Kells, starting to find form and at the right time of year. Potent forward line but questionable at the back. Up against Ratoath in the Q-Final will be a hard ask for the Gaeils. If they top Group B however avoid playing Ratoath until the final experience should stand to them and would be my favourites, only if they avoid Ratoath until the final. Expect them to put it up to Ratoath in Q-Final but come up short. Verdict-Q-Final

The thing that would worry me about our team is the lack of consistent free taker. We easily beat Ballinlough in our last game but every score came from play with 5 or 6 very scoreable frees missed. In a tight game (which we're bound to have eventually), those types of misses will cost us.

Who do people think will get out of each group at this stage?

I'm going to go with:

Group A: Dunderry, Syddan & St. Michaels

Group B: 2 x Colmcilles.

Group C: Ratoath & Castletown

Anyone have other ideas? Who could be the dark horses for winning outright or having a run to the semis or the final?

Massive chance for Kells to finally win the Intermediate this year.

Ratoath will be playing senior football in the near future with the talent and depth they have, but they might need to wait a few years and may also need to strenghten up midfield. Will be interesting to see how their youngsters cope when things tighten up in the knockouts.

St. Colmcilles have the talent to win it but have generally underperformed over the last few years and I don't see that changing this year.

Outside of that, the likes of Castletown, Ballinabrackey and Dunderry could cause an upset but if they were to win it they would probably be relegated within a year or two.

Should be some great games for the neutrals in the knockouts with most of the aforementioned teams having some seriously talented forwards but weaker backlines. Overall standard of the intermediate has been getting worse for a while now but there are still some quality footballers about.Hopefully the likes of Danny Quinn, Paddy Kennelly and Conor McGill can do enough to earn a run out in the O'Bynre/league.

Putting my neck on the line I would have to back Kells. Although I wonder how many times that has been said in the last 5 years!

What way is the 1/4 set up.
pre-determined by the placings in the groups id have imagined but which placings in which groups are paired off?
Anyone know?

I think this will be Kells year, they seem to have a bit of steel about them, are strong and are doing well in the league so they have seemed to have turned a corner and are getting more consistent which has been missing the last few years

Ratoath are flying this year but havent been tested but I heard one of their better players players broke his hand (O Brien) But you wouldnt know although I think a physically bigger team will over run them. A few years when they have bulked up a bit they should win the inter

Castletown are a real threat and are notoriously slow starters and whoever beats them normally wins it out
No real stars but one of the forces at this level

On Castletown, how much of a difference will Div.1 make to them. Will it be a help in that they will have been playing all their games against the best teams in the county, OR, the fact that theyve lost so many games will it go against them in that it will have dented their confidence?
Although, a cuple of championship wins would surely banish any doubts that lingered from the league.

On Castletown getting ritual beat-downs in div 1 I'd be off the opinion that it can never be good for a team. The last few games for them have been close affairs so thats a positive. Overall I think teams would prefer to be able to dictate the play somewhat in games, get their own patterns going and generally build a bit of confidence. I think confidence is key. If that wasn't battered too much and they can go into the Balivor game in a good state of mind then having played games at div 1 intensity could help them.

I am open to correction on this but I think, I THINK, that the top team from group A goes directly to semi final,

Then 2nd and third from the same group go into a draw with 1st and second from groups B and C which make up the three quarter finals.
Again though I might be way off the mark
