Everyone was on the ground for the whole game, it's where football is played believed it or not!!!

Madzer would you ever stop living in dream land, as rossie just pointed out Carnaross are the force to be reckoned with this year !!!

There is not much point worrying about if Ratoath look like a shoo in for the Mattie McDonnell, I think only Castletown can worry them

Reckon Kells could have a massive say yet.
Put up some very big scores in the last few league games and seem to have a very potent forward unit. Definatly the form team in the IFC at the minute.

in fairness league form means absolutely nothing!

they played st. colmcilles in championship and were beating convincingly on the day. I'd rate st. colmcilles higher than both kells and ratoath.

I know they are different competitions completley and teams dont always have the same players available. My point was that winning like that will give them great confidence and momentum going into these next few games, and they also have a few decent forwards.

On St Colmcilles.
Have they not been one of the most hit and miss teams over the last few years? Ya can never tell which team will turn up. On their day they can beat anyone in the IFC, but there are plenty of days in the last few years where they have been very ordinary too. Hard to see them putting 4 or 5 very strong performances back to back.

Jinxie, agree about the Cilles but they have a new Manager this year and takes no b/s. I saw them against Kells and they where streets ahead in terms of performance. Very fast forwards and then throw in Reilly and it is a completely different team. Cant see Ratoath beating Kells or Cilles as half the players are on this forumn talking about how good they are which in itself is the problem. You will have the usual suspects there of there about but the only other team i would rule in would be Castletown. Donal Curtis will be a factor here and they will be very hard to beat. Cilles for me but a lot needs to go right. My opinion anyway

confidence or a false sense of expectation. my reading into it is that they haven't been properly tested since they early summer. They could get lucky because they are in the same group as st. colmcilles so basically they will be on the easier side of the knockout stages and would avoid them til the final. Though I cant see them beating ratoath who will be on their side.

the standard of intermediate has dropped dramatically in recent yrs with emigration hitting a lot of teams in the grade. It is summed up by the bookies having ratoath as favourites, though this time last year a lot of people myself included disregarded them for junior.
Apart from the 2 colmcilles teams and ratoath maybe, Id fear for any other team gettimg promoted to senior. Imagine dunderry, ballinabrackey, michaels, castletown or clan na gael coming up against a NOM or Dunboyne.

Ah come off it, the exact same can be said for kells, same thing was said about ratoath last year...You can only judge it on this year. St. Colmcilles have young team who should be coming into their prime now. Allow for a few blips over the years when it is a team that relied so heavily on youth.

Relax there man, Im not having a go at them. Im just pointing out that Ive gone to plenty of games they've played in over the past few years and they failed to fire on the day itself in the championship.
Ive no knowledge of the inner workings of the team this year, or any of the teams in the IFC, Im simply giving the view of some one looking across the fence so to speak. Nothing I said was incorrect, so dont take it as being derogatory towards your opinions or club.

well by that logic mayo shouldn't win the all Ireland because over the last I dunno how many years they have got to a certain stage and then come up against a team where they have failed to 'fire' and lost? games with Donegal, Kerry, Meath and Dublin come to mind.

It didn't stop NOM winning keegan last year? what has any other years performances got to do with this year in fairness.

Your right so. No point trying to debate with someone with tunnell vision. Best of luck to yourself and Cilles on your crusade to Meath, Leinster and All Ireland Glory.

Thanks for the good wishes anyway, feel free to say I told you so IF the time comes.

Carnaross are serious contenders for this. There coming in "under the radar" and primed to peak at just the right time. You heard it here first!

Its not lack of fight dubsout. Its simply a case of only looking in from the outside on all clubs in the IFC so I wouldnt take on to push my opinion on wether x or y team will or wont do well.

Your in a different position in that your obviously in close contact with the Cilles so your going to know better than I what they are capable of.

Theres certainly an interesting run in to the IFC in store with a few upsets along the way I'm sure.
My semi's would be, Both Cilles, Ratoath & Castletown. With a colmcilles double final.

Certainly be under the radar after a very slow start to the year. But Seamus Kiernan knows how to win the IFC so who knows what he might pull out of the bag. Id be surpised tho. Pleasantly surprised however.

It's hard to see past Ratoath at the minute, I can see them emulating Wolfe Tones and claiming the honours at this grade a year after winning the JFC. Can't see any side living with the pace of their forward line at this level. On top of this they have some very strong backs in McGill and Brian Power who I think could be the difference in keeping players like Graham Reilly quiet. My money is on a ST.Colmcilles vs Ratoath final with the latter winning comfortably enough. Can see them challenging for SFC honours in the not too distant future a la the tones.
