Am I correct in saying that if Ballinabracky beat ratoath by 5 points and Castletown beat Ballinlough, Ratoath are out of the championship?

That would be correct Boedor.........Hope Ballinlough beat Castletown and Bracks and Ratoath draw and then the 2 best teams in group will qualify, would be a sin to see Castletown in q/f as they are hopeless.

Especially with the side pf the draw they are on its hard to see colmcilles not get to final and i imagine kells being the other team in the decider. cilles have good young players like jamie mcdonnell, jack reynolds, ben brennan ruari o grady etc and obviously graham reilly i just think its hard to see them being bet!! 5/1 in paddys isnt a bad price either!

So one of the groups will be done and dusted by Thursday night! How do you see it going? I didn't realise ratoath were not assured their place in the knockouts. if castletown win and the bracks beat ratoath by 5, ratoath are out! ... and if the castletown lose rest assured that they will be on the phones to their contacts at the other game, praying that ratoath do them a favour...

love the unpredictability of intermediate football at times!

Is it fair to say that St colmcilles are the only team that have qualified before last round of games ?

Still 5 places up for grabs.

Huge weekend of games,Dunderry should go thru bar they lose by 10-12 points against clann na gael,i fancy Syddan to scrape thru with them.

Prediction.Dunderry to top group and syddan to finish runner up.

With Trim & Longwood both out it comes down to a showdown between kells and Donaghmore/ashbourne and i would be very surprised if kells cant beat a second team from donaghmore/ashbourne.

Prediction.kells to join syddan in q/f with st colmcilles already thru to semis.

With the farce of a result in athboy 2 weeks ago when Castletown beat Ballivors minor team by 22 points it has created a showdown in Longwood tomorrow night in which ratoath must avoid a 5 point defeat, however ballinlough have a score to settle with castletown from last year and will be no pushovers, expect 2 tight games with alot of twist and turns on the night.

Predictions.Ballinabrackey and ratoath to draw with ballinlough knocking out castletown.

Dermot1 you have a couple of options to see group tables. First of all the Meath GAA website obviously and secondly someone keeps a wikipedia page for the championship and it seems to be fairly well kept from what I can gather.

I agree with much of what you said there lutch, though I think you may have missed the fact that 3 teams qusilfy from group A, with the top team straight through to the semis. This group is interesting in that Dunderry and Syddan both missed their chances in the last round to effectively assure themselves of 1st and 2nd in the group respectively. Dunderry should at the very least make the quarter finals but there are 4 more teams close together and competing for the other two spots. I see both Syddan and Dunderry winning this weekend and the michaels winning their game depriving the ultans and clan na ngael of spots.

In group B I feel both colmcilles will qualify. Ashboune B are perhaps unlikely to shock the kells colmcilles but are the only other team in a position to challenge for a QF place

Finally in group C, it's safe to say I'd imagine that Ballivor are glad that there's no relegation this year. I know that the lutch has predicted that ratoath and the bracks to go through I on the otherhand think that castletown's score difference will stand to them and assuming they beat ballinlough should be through. Ratoath to maintain their 100% record as well I feel.

The QF pairings IMO will be:

1. St.Colmcilles v St.Michaels (Dunderry waiting for winner in SF)
2. Ratoath v Gaeil Colmcille
3. Syddan v Castletown

Rumours surfacing that Longwood have conceded a walkover to the Colmcilles, any truth in this?

Yeah Longwood gave St. Colmcilles a walkover and Slane gave St. Mary's one in the Junior.
Bad form in my opinion.
