Lads can anyone tell me if Sean Towey from Carnaross was involved? He wasn't named on the bench but he was out on the field warming up. Would be great for the club to have a county minor Meathgaa5 (Meath) - Posts: 339 - 02/05/2013 13:15:28 1377611 Link 0 |

laois will be a decent test for this team, i felt that they are a long way off compared to last years team, they beat a very poor longford team on Wednesday so it was nothing major, i feel McEntee is far too greedy when he has the ball, maybe he feels he can do it all by himself as he was playing last year but if he was to get the ball in quicker to Rowe and Wallace they might start to see an improvment, Also still there is no primary ball winner in midfield which concerns me, and also full back needs to be addressed as the high ball is killing them each game, McGowan well Capable of playing there as he did for the U16s in the Gerry Reilly Memorial trophy last year lildinger96 (Meath) - Posts: 18 - 03/05/2013 12:38:02 1378226 Link 0 |

Very impressed with the minors today against a fancied Laois team. Was talking to some locals before the game and they were very confident. Wasnt sure what to expect after the collapse against Offaly and the display against what looked like a poor Longford team. But credit where it's due. Team had a good attitude from the start on a tricky day with a strong breeze and some heavy showers. Started without Ruairi o Grady due to an injury he picked up during the week. Ruairi o Coileain moved from 6 to midfield and scored 3 points in the first half. Brian Harnan came in at 6 and played very well considering he wasn't on the panel for the last game and I think has another year at minor. Some great defending and some great saves by Jack O Sullivan in goal. Two corner forwards were lively all through. When and where will the Westmeath match be ? noneutrals (Dublin) - Posts: 316 - 11/05/2013 19:11:47 1382230 Link 0 |

after the defeat to offaly great bit of character shown by the minors to get to the semi final, hopefully they can keep it up and make it to the final. johnsee (Meath) - Posts: 389 - 11/05/2013 20:27:12 1382275 Link 0 |

The next game is in Mullingar on the 6th of July. Meath will be heavy favourites surely after what they did to them in Mullingar last year. Matthew (None) - Posts: 1122 - 11/05/2013 20:30:48 1382283 Link 0 |

Westmeath next wont be easy! Defence will need to be up for it and the forward need to take sensible shots as they did today Meath4life98 (Meath) - Posts: 21 - 11/05/2013 20:43:56 1382288 Link 0 |

From what i seen in Laois some of the key players were those that are still underage next year. O Sullivan was incredible in goals pulled off saves that is fit for match of the day. Charlie Bird was very good infront of goal kept Laois's so called best footballer quite as he won everything in the air. Brian Harnan at no 6 played very well held centre back well, picked up a yellow card early on but showed great composure to keep his head. and Rowe in the corner was a constant threat on the ball as he and Wallace in the far corner have built up a great understanding between themselves. i not only singing the praises of the young lads on the team but Squeeler had a great game as he has always done this years with the minors. both McGoverns were good as was Toner who showed his calmness on the ball. McEntee was good on the ball but can be a bit selfish at times and other times he should be more selfish and try take a point himself. Wallace has in my opinion been the best player so far this year with being able to win primary possession. Trayner and Lavin were also good. Niall Lyons was poor to start with but he came into it in the second half. and midfield worked well need to try be able to gain primary possession. butterfly (Meath) - Posts: 112 - 12/05/2013 17:36:17 1382597 Link 0 |

once again the great glenny is right the westmeath game in Navan. This will be tough they won Gerry Reilly 2 years ago. Fully expect Meath to nick it and Kildare will handle the Dubs easy enough. Kildare are the big threat this year glenny (Meath) - Posts: 1119 - 14/05/2013 09:26:17 1383503 Link 0 |
