Have a bad feeling about this one, hopefully the young lads can step up and make a game of it, but if we get a hiding it could set them back a lot.

Best of luck lads, give it your all!

And now your calling them a mediocre team??!?!!?

Your a negative fan, i dont have time for your type!!

I rest my case and the word hypocrite comes to mind!!!

Gaz, Nail Bar is more realistic than negative. The current team is a mediocre one as of now (given all that has happened in 2011 and 2012), compared to an All-Ireland winning team of one, ten or twenty years ago. They may be well above average in comparison with most counties, but they have a long way to go yet before they could be called a great team. But things can change relatively quickly .. over one, two or three years. Some folk get carried away in a tide of emotion to the point of delusion after one good performance, when the opposition had an off day. If Meath played Kildare again this Sunday, they would probably only have a 50:50 chance of winning. Playing Dublin in the coming weeks will test this team to an even greater level. It is 60:40 against but that is fine. If the lads play to their potential and get a break here and there they could win the Leinster final. But even the best teams need a slice of luck from time to time to get over the line. That is the reality.

A hypocrit is someone who falsely pretents to be virtuous. Not someone who expresses a gut feeling about something on the one hand, but wishes the team well on the other. No offense, just saying.

Typo ... Pretends.

Anyway, if people want to hype the game up do it among themselves, so long as the players aren't part of your social circle or work colleagues. A low key build up will serve the team best of all.

Gaz, it's more a case of cute h...ism before a big match, not a hypocrite.

Talking up the opposition before a match to keep players focused on the task at hand and not get ahead of themselves. Then talk them (the previous opposition) down somewhat to keep players feet on the ground so they do not get complacent for the next match, which will be an even greater test. If it works in Kerry why not in Meath!

I have been to loads of Meath Dublin matches down the years. Going back some time now, there was the odd occasion in the past where you felt the team would struggle to get scores. And this usually turned out to be the case. Call it a gut feeling, call it experience.

Anyway, I'm not saying this will be the case on July 22nd as I feel we are well capable of putting up a decent tally on the scoreboard. But the reality is that the entire Meath team will have to work much harder and with real efficiency vs. Dublin than they did vs. Kildare to outscore them.

Im a realistic fan.

I was calling Kildare a mediocre team all along! we have got hockeyed by mediocre teams over the past few years so I dont get your point? Our form this year didnt exactly set the world alight and so another hammering by a mediocre team would have knocked the confidence out of these young lads. Thankfully that didnt happen but this is much the same team that "played" against Tyrone and Louth in the league yet your telling us they are only 4% off one of the greatest teams ever.

Im afraid after this thread, I dont have much time for you either!
