Fair play to Banty and friends

Bettystown royal
The county board did not sack O Brien, he was voted out by the delegates. Delegates elected by every
club in the county. You can express dissatisfaction with the county board but are you willing to let your
name go forward at your clubs agm because that is the only way to affect change!

Id be carefull on this tread.lets relax here ,cause if banty was allowed get his way the lads would still be playing basketball style.lets be clear if it wasn`t for the kick up during and after the leauge by the supporters and many here on HS things prob wouldnt of changed so much .This post should be fair play to those loyal royals who stuck with the rubbish that banty and the cb have thrown at them .When we win silverware , then ill express my gratitude till then ,get one with it ,its far too early to be back slapping

I think we're starting to see it all coming together now. Changing the management team around again after this year would be madness, put us right back to square one. Coyle, Barry, O'Brien... eventually we have to give someone some time. Banty has shown some serious passion, not only in resisting the coup to oust him but also you can see it on the sideline at the games. Not to mention that photo from the papers yesterday where he looks like he's attacking the photographer. Against Kildare we defended with tenacity and attacked with pace. And we won against many peoples favourites for the AI this year (though personally I have always thought them a little over rated, but hey I am from Meath).

Another year for Banty and Co. I say!

True. Maybe Evans and the Meath lads alongside him have pushed for a change in style. We're working the kickouts differently, giving our midfielders more space and we're more direct.

Sad thing is, we look a much more effective team when we run the ball. Bar some of Cian Ward's play most of the ball kicked into the full forwards was very poor. When you look at our midfield we're much more potent when run it, Forde and MacAnarney overlapped well down the left, Mickey Burke bombing forward and even Carroll looks more like a runner at centre forward than a playmaker.

We have two big target men inside, they're not going to turn their markers easilly. The ball has to be accurate and into the hands. Only way to do that is to get Cian Ward on the ball around midfield. He can be our playmaker.

We're not great defensively. Nowhere near Dublin, Donegal or Mayo in terms of organisation or application.

Ollie 99,

Fair enough we're not near Donegal defensively, but sure who is? They are the most defence orientated team in the country. They have 14 backs and a goalie. And fair enough the Dubs, but dunno why do you rate Mayo so highly.

I'm not saying we're there already but we're further along than we have been in recent times (not that that would take much now)

Said it before and say it again, what a fickle bunch supporters are, question for everyone, are Meath a better team now than they were on Saturday last ?, if we had been beaten by a couple of points the vast majority would be on here slating players, questioning why so and so wasn't on etc, Yes a great performance Sunday but look at the match, Kildare did not get going at all, if we can repeat this performance then we are moving forward and by the way that doesn't mean winning against the dubs, it means putting in another solid performance. Supporters too quick to slate players and likewise as is the case now too quick to blow up players on the basis of one excellent showing. Feet on the ground please

The key for banty was getting Evans on board a great football brain
Meath have the natural talent last sunday they reminded me of Kerrye
in 75 young full of running Carroll is more like Ogie Moran the way he plays
This New Meath Team have a brtght future i expect them to beat Dublin by 2 points

Seems like Evans has made quite the impact. If he's putting the miles in to travelling to Meath and organising training sessions you can see how passionate he is about football. Would love to see him stay involved with Meath, regardless of how Banty's tenure plays out.

Well done to the Meath team on a great performance, it has been a real rollercoaster year for you and it is better to be talked about than not.
The young players played a stormer and all of Bantys substitutions worked. Best of Luck you against Dublin, you certainly have a chance if you play as well in midfield again.
