The way i look at it lads is from now on any team meath play are gona try and draw kevin reilly as far as they can away from meaths goals.well thats what i would do if i was trying to beat meath.so what we need is a good corner back who can step into cover for reilly when this happends.caoimhin is made for this role if you ask me bobjaffacake (Meath) - Posts: 1400 - 01/06/2012 10:38:53 1185033 Link 0 |

theres more to the Caoimhin V Banty situation than meets the eye. he doesnt strike me as the type of lad that would just give up just because he wasnt getting his place on the team. theres obviously stuff going on behind closed doors that no one on the outside seems to be aware of. bobjaffacake while i agree with you in theory and understand where you are coming from I have always felt that Caomhin would be more suited to a half back position. larry (None) - Posts: 7 - 01/06/2012 11:19:31 1185067 Link 0 |

Agree with Jinxie at least Kingsy has kept his dignity by not going to the press, He has been very loyal to the Meath cause im sure he will be back when Banty is gone summerhillof69 (Meath) - Posts: 228 - 01/06/2012 12:05:15 1185116 Link 0 |

I have great admiration for King, he has been very loyal to the the county over the years and has always been dedicated to the team. its a pity he's gone but hopefully he'l be back someday. Long live the KING! phileasfogg (Meath) - Posts: 7 - 01/06/2012 14:38:23 1185260 Link 0 |

Coamhin King is off the panel he is a loss but he has made his decison we will just have to get on with and bring someone on to the panel in his place like D.Dalton or S.Curran anyway it good that he walked off the panel quietly whatever may of happened because Meath football has had enough bad press for a while and lets just contrate and beating Carlow and giving Kildare a run for the money and hopefully beat them because i am sick of them beating us and being so cocky about it its team we put them back in there box. Lads to be fair I doubt Banty is not picking players he doesnt like. He has enough guys arond him telling him who are good and bad footballers. It would appear to me that Mr King was not doing the business in training and was therfor not picked. we cant pick players on how they previously played we must pick them on current form and best people to do that is the guys watching them every night. reading between the lines its seem he is unhappy about a couple of lads who have been missing training lately because of exams and then get picked before him.banty has been saying he picks players on how they perform at training but this doesnt seem to be the case bobjaffacake (Meath) - Posts: 1400 - 02/06/2012 08:31:31 1185544 Link 0 |

King was right to go to the press but seems to be very dignified in what he said and didnt say , suppose he had to set the record straight which he did. he wasnt in Carlow for the game against Wicklow contrary to what various articles reported phileasfogg (Meath) - Posts: 7 - 06/06/2012 12:42:24 1188079 Link 0 |

I agree, he neither whinged, didn't personalise his disquiet, nor did he cause controversy. He just put it on the record that having to sit on the bench wasn't the problem, he just wasn't happy with how things are being done. rath_togh (Meath) - Posts: 740 - 06/06/2012 13:46:08 1188173 Link 0 |

Caoimhin will be back, I have no doubt. Very strong, experienced and professional. And off course he's from Meath, unlike the current Manager. As we know, Meath don't do childish tantrums. aghref (Meath) - Posts: 153 - 06/06/2012 17:20:55 1188425 Link 0 |

i agree wholehearedly with Rath togh (for a change!)! King didnt announce his disquiet and annoyance to the world (press) and didnt draw more negative attention to the county after months of negative press surrounding the team and management not to mention the Louth/Meath fiasco of 2 yrs ago. all the best to the lad in whatever he decides to do, he has been an asset to Meath football and will hopefully return. larry (None) - Posts: 7 - 06/06/2012 20:06:22 1188547 Link 0 |

it's a shame he left the team would have strengthened the squad but maybe he knew of the young lads coming through and did the right thing and let them have their chance. BettystownRoyal (Meath) - Posts: 3353 - 02/07/2012 21:52:04 1207933 Link 0 |
