McConnell from Bective only plays junior football. Willie McGrath also got a chance under Banty. Apart from the likes of these young lads and Mickey Newman, I don't know what other junior players are out there. One or two maybe but it's not as if there's a wealth of undiscovered talent in the Meath JFC. Plus any player from a junior club will be spotted at u16, minor and u21 level. In defence of Banty, he has a lot of IFC players, e.g. Burke, O'Connor, Carroll, Reilly, Queeney, McAnaney.

As for new players, no need to look outside the panel. Trevor Giles made reference to "exciting newcomer" Mark Collins in his Examiner article. Considering Collins hasn't played a part in League or O'Bryne Cup (and has been injured most of the year), it's obvious there's a lot thought of him. Which dosen't surprise me really as the guy is blessed with speed. If he overcomes whatever injury he had, don't be surprised if Banty takes a gamble on him come championship.

I stand corrected. I am led to believe Brian has now been callled into the panel after a massive preformance at carton house. Very best of luck to him.
