Heard that Giles was back. He will be a temendous boost to the squad. He is worth 4-5 points to the team. Jack L (None) - Posts: 3182 - 02/05/2012 08:10:21 1164362 Link 0 |

I'd say its more confusion. He prob heard giles helping meath or one of those headlines and assumed he came in as a player rather than a coach royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 02/05/2012 12:57:24 1164546 Link 0 |

Does anyone know how fit Paddy Gilsenan is? Will he be available for the challenge game in Boardsmill on Monday? Royalroller (Meath) - Posts: 86 - 02/05/2012 14:23:05 1164647 Link 0 |

For the obvious reasons I've been keeping a close eye on Wicklow football, and theres no doubt they have improved greatly over the past 2,3,or 4 years almost at the same rate as your lads (Meath) have been disimproving,I think your fall from grace began last year and now you find yourselves in Div.3, but low and behold, as soon as John Evans resigned his position as Tipperary manager Banty saw an ideal opportunity, signed up Johnny as his assistant so from now on things can only get better as we all know he is rated very highly, so who in your opinion would reap the rewards if Meath were to have a reasonably successful year, Banty or John Evans, oh by the way Jack L is a Kildare man. supersub15 (Carlow) - Posts: 3204 - 02/05/2012 15:05:32 1164710 Link 0 |

O'Brien's one of our best defenders and after the Tyrone and Louth debacles you can't claim that we have any form players. McGuinness in my opinion is better suited as a corner-back then King. Yes, Tobin would make a good corner-back too. Ollie99 (Meath) - Posts: 442 - 02/05/2012 16:06:18 1164786 Link 0 |

mcanarney has been in my opinion the loosest marker and most wasteful on the panel this year without doubt, he's galloped up field to kick it wide or miss a pass so many occasions, with college commitments lenihan hasn't played much and tobin has indeed made an impact on the team whens he played? The logic behind McAnarney's selection at 6 is simply that when you play a very defensive system with numbers back having a centre-back who can spring forward and break with the ball quickly is a very effective way of counter-attacking. Donegal do this with Karl Lacey, Dublin have Ger Brennan, Tyrone use Peter Harte and Mayo have been using Donal Vaughan to great effect. All those teams, (with the exception of Dublin) play a running game and the centre-back is now crucial to that system. Ollie99 (Meath) - Posts: 442 - 02/05/2012 17:41:34 1164903 Link 0 |
