They will be serious opposition. But there style of play will suit us I think. Very good performance today but slightly more confident that we may just get by them.

Seanie Furlong looks a real threat up front and they've a few nice footballers there in Glynn and Hannon but in fairness.. Fermanagh's defense was fairly awful. I'd say Kevin Reilly would have the measure of Furlong in around the square and I'd hope Banty will have the defense organized to quell out any other threat. I just noticed as well that they're vulnerable enough under the high ball so I'd be hitting direct high balls in on top of Joe all day. They'll be a handful nonetheless.

this game should have been fixed for either parnell park or as part of a double or triple header

Maybe you can concentrate on winning something (and I don't mean division against Tyrone - welcome to kyle coney)

Wicklow did well today in fairness, but has the Joe/Evans factor brought mhi momentum? Considering meath had a wide in d last minute v kildare, and they returned a score to win, wicklow v mhi is looking very interesting...despite d mhi naysayers on this thread

JUST WATCHED THE WICKLOW FERMANAGH GAME.. NOT ALOT ON OFFER..BUT amazed how easy players went down, holding their faces for nothing, an element thats creeping into the game, just like soccer..or is there a sniper in the stands?

Dont hold your breath on Kevin Reilly playing because at this stage its a miracle if he is on the team...

I'd hope Banty will have the defense organized to quell out any other threat. I can only laugh at that comment.

You noticed that Wicklow are vulnerable under the high ball!!?? You clearly have not been to a meath game in the last 10 years, or can you point out to me when meath annilated a team with high fielding??

Tell me when you wake up lad, because you are in dreamland.. Wicklow are gonna come out of the traps at Meath like its their all ireland..they have strung more victories together then Meath have managed in the last 2 years

another one who sees only bad in meath football, trust you won't be at the match as you have no interest in "supporting" meath just putting them down, can do without that

Another one to the eternal dreamers list...
There IS ONLY BAD in Meath football at the moment. I have been telling people to get real for years on this thing because I go to enough games 'supporting' them..

Bet you are one of these people who think Meath have some right to all-ireland glory.

Face the overwhelming facts....9 point defeat in 2001 all ireland final. How many finals have we contested since? Semi final appearances in 07 and 09.. via the back door as we didn't make win let alone contest a provincial final..
collapses against both Wexford and Limerick (oh yes the biggest of names in Gaelic Football)
Robbery of Louth in the 2010 Leinster final.. although the path to the final was impressive form.
Beaten 5 times on the trot by Kildare over the last 2 years (what have they won recently to prove their worth also)
Saved from relegation last season because of victory on the head to head over only team we mangaged to beat (Sligo)..
Humiliated and Relegated to the 3rd tier of 4 in football in the country..will i even mention the away record over the last few seasons?

4 managers in 6 years

In addition, what has been achieved at under age level??? nothing

you just keep carrying on with the rest of the dreamers on this forum, but please realise that Meath are no longer a super power in Football and have not been since the late 1990s. Stop building them up to be something there not, and stop defending the undefendable..

Who are you to judge my support?? Im an avid supporter of Meath football and hurling for that matter.. But im a REALIST so get with the programme and less of your categorisations of what support is needed right now.

thanks for listing out this panels achievements there over the last few years.... i never said meath were a superpower they most certainly are not. BUT to have miserable people like you on this claiming there is "only bad" in meath football is NOT support, get with the program me only a handful of teams in the last decade have won an all ireland and not many have reached an all ireland semi or won a provincial championship which meath have done, kildare today beat tyrone who are heavily fancied for the all ireland quite handsomely and if you remember were a few suspect decisions away from an all ireland final appearance vs down i think it was.

How can you call yourself a "supporter" yur offering no support to the team just criticisms and sure listening to you why not scrap football for a few years if its all bad, if i had the opinion of nothing good in meath football like you have i wouldn't waste my money paying in to see them, unless you enjoy moaning and bitching on these forums which i suspect is the case also

Look we all know how bad things have been. Its time to unite. I put up a defense for banty until we were relegated and subsequent vote I then said change. I lost that argument. And now I will support management and team to the very bitter end. Always have always will.
Let's get behind the team now. If we get over wicklow I feel we will beat carlow. And if opposition is kildare and they play like they did today well then we should be well in with a shout.
But let's take one game at a time and let's turn carlow green and gold on the 27th

You need to go into a dark room and have a word with yourself, there are very few dreamers on this forum, optimists yes and there is nothing wrong with that but dreamers no. You see we all know the problems in Meath football and we know we are not the force of old but we are still in a better position than most to return to past glories, the experience and know how is there and personally I believe the raw talent is also there. What we need is the belief and ruthlessness that defined our successful periods, those qualities have waned and need to return. In addition the county powers that be at board and delegate level seem content to fight and bitch amongst themselves instead of concentrating on the issues at hand, everyone at this level seems to think they know what's best, they seem to think they are experts, in truth they are old, wore out individuals with old ideas and old strategies intent on using monthly meetings at Navan as their anger zone to vent their spleens at each other. There is enough negativity being focussed on Meath from outside the county without those inside it becoming overly negative also, there has been enough moving and shaking done in the past week to suggest that management realised that serious changes needed making, these changes should be given ample chance to prove themselves, supporters wanted something done and some things have been done so let's support the team on the 27th, I am not denying the issues just sick of all the negativity which was until recently an alien feeling to this county.

Ziggy whats the story man Maybe your right about N.Farrell but just think he would be worth a look at because of our short coming up front anyway it won't matter he is way abroad for the summer along with D.Morgan according to people from Donaghmore last saturday nite and Gillispe played well at midfield and took him a while to get into it but done well when he did and i would deniftly give a run at midfield for the county team cant be any worse then whats been palyed there at the moment and Davy played well but had his work cut out marking N.Farrell thats i think farrell should be looked at but probbaly make no differcence at this stage. I was at the Duleek and Pats match on saturday nite aswell and very poor match i know weather was bad but it was a terrible match and no county players on display which is very disapointting because you think each senior team should have player with the potenial to play intercounty.E.Reilly palyed no.11 started of slow but grow into the match.
1.D.Gallagher
2.D.Dalton
3.K.Reilly
4.D.Keoghan
5.M.Burke
6.S.McAranery
7.D.Tobin
8.C.Gillispe
9.B.Menton
10.S.Bray
11.E.Reilly
12.P.Byrne
13.P.Gilsanan
14.J.Sherdian (with him swaping with E.Reilly during the match)
15.A.Forde
Going on form and freshing up the team for the wicklow match this what i would pick.

I know we are struggling for quality corner backs but after watching Farrell destroy Dalton on Friday night I cannot see how you could start him in the corner for the Wicklow game.

your going for two corner backs with NO experience, a centre half back in my opinion found lacking badly in mcanarney and not including tom walsh arguably the brightest prospect with gilsenan and menton, playing eoin reilly who hasn't shone inter county for meath, and forde who hasn't made a dent and leaving our top scorer cian ward out??? also not playing the captain kenny or graham reilly??? bit of cop on required
