Some rubbish being posted here re Newman, people are now talking about him, some of whom have probably never even seen him play in person. He is untried and untested at senior level never mind inter county, and before ye all go off on one re sigerson cup, was every player on those sigerson teams on their respective county sides ? No harm bringing onto panel but to say he should be in contention is madness, also it is very bad for other panelists there since november to see new lads coming in weeks before championship cowardlyasafox (Meath) - Posts: 209 - 24/04/2012 10:20:48 1158760 Link 0 |
heavy scorer for kilmainham last few years, key part of u21 side and starred in college, what are your credentials for giving someone a shot? Thejoeshow (Meath) - Posts: 687 - 24/04/2012 10:28:15 1158768 Link 0 |
Brian sheridan was the same and at a top club at senior level, championship is not the place for giving lads "a shot" cowardlyasafox (Meath) - Posts: 209 - 24/04/2012 12:02:00 1158842 Link 0 |
Lads will ye Cool it re: Mickey Newman. He WON'T be playing for Meath this summer. Any football he plays this summer will be with Wolfe Tones. Jinxie (Meath) - Posts: 6347 - 24/04/2012 12:21:53 1158870 Link 0 |

When Meath win the All Ireland this year I will premier my song "The Ballad of Big Joe" on the square in Navan during the homecoming. bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1836 - 24/04/2012 20:08:33 1159358 Link 0 |

I'd hate to be Joe Sheridan going to his next job interview...not one for the long term by the looks of it (luckily for us). In all serious, he is not the Messiah, but is probably worth 1-1 to 1-2 over any other forward we have which are the scorelines you win championship matches by. joe sheridan back is just nuts , meath will probably go on now and win the all ireland , meath squad have been through so much , regardless of peoples feelings on banty he is charismatic and tough as a nut , the sort of person born to lead ...........meath should get behind their team now , theres a nice core group of players there who have genuine quality never mind the county board come championship their job is completely irrelevant haz (Dublin) - Posts: 213 - 24/04/2012 21:52:22 1159446 Link 0 |
Joe is back on irish land woohoo!!! grahamc9897 (Meath) - Posts: 1176 - 25/04/2012 09:54:03 1159506 Link 0 |
Its good to hear joe is back, being a good fan of joes, i think it takes more than 1 person to win a leinster never mind an all- ireland but joe is a great boost and he will be a great boost for county and for club. Meath are back in the game!!! footballmadness (Meath) - Posts: 18 - 25/04/2012 10:13:53 1159520 Link 0 |
Its a massive boost for meath after a very bad few weeks. Good to have a good news story. I wanted banty to go after louth game as I felt he had lost all credibility. And after all the arguing back and forth that argument is now put to bed. Regardless of my personal feelings on his management he has shown true grit something I hope the players take from all this debacle. After all of us venting our opinions one way or other. It is now time to unite behind manager and team. Let's turn the nightmare league into a glorious championship. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 25/04/2012 10:33:52 1159533 Link 0 |
Great to hear Big Joe is back he will ad some bualk and balling winning skills to the foward line which badly needed at this time.I think one of two things are going to happen Meath in the championship they are either going to come out and play like there lives depened on it or they just going to go through the motions probbaly go out on the championship on a damp squip. My team for championship would be ThickandTin (Meath) - Posts: 121 - 25/04/2012 10:47:37 1159545 Link 0 |
great news lets hope he brings leadership to this panel and we see a different animal, re: thickandthin, seems a very odd choice? id go with something slightly different. The players in bold here are ones i think are sure fire to be in bantys 15 come wicklow Thejoeshow (Meath) - Posts: 687 - 25/04/2012 11:08:03 1159562 Link 0 |
